Thinking about a Deva Curl Cut? Here are some things to consider...
The Deva Cut is primarily for women who have a some sort of curl definition and wear wash and go’s. Unlike a precision cut, which is very blunt and linear, DevaCurl Cuts are tailored toward the texture and fall of your individual curls.
When receiving a DevaCurl Cut the hair is cut dry with the goal to be able to wash and go .
If you frequently wear your hair in stretched styles (e.g. twist outs, braid out, flat iron), then this method may not be the best option because there is a likelihood that your shape will be uneven in a stretched state. If you are a wash and go curly or coily, then straightening before cutting may not be the best option because when the hair shrinks, the integrity of the shape may be compromised.
After the cut, the stylist will shampoo and condition, apply product and style all the while explaining what she is doing step by step so you can achieve the same results at home. In addition, clients receive a complimentary microfiber towel in order to help
maintain their curls at home.
Although you may pay more up front for a Deva Cut, they last much longer than regular cuts since they grow out in a more uniform manner. As a result you will be saving in the end. Exceptions to this would be shorter cuts that need to be maintained.
